When I first started running, I chose popular music because it was easy to make a playlist. What I found, however, was that I got bored and annoyed very quickly with hearing the same music over and over again even if it was popular. So I started researching music that I have always loved and can listen to over and over again and not get bored. I also tried to find music that had a high amount of BPM and songs that helped me get amped up.
I have been working on my playlist for a few years now and every so often I do get bored with certain songs and if that is the case I either take them out or move them around. It is a mixture of rap, 80’s rock bands, pop music and some current hits. The playlist was created in a specific order to get you amped up and to then continue on with songs that encourage and motivate you. Then in those moments of being tired, a fun song will pump you back up to keep going.
I created my ultimate playlist in Spotify for those of you who are interested in testing it out or finding some new songs to run to.
This is a long mix so some of you may not hit every song. So crank up the volume, hit play and work it out!
