This week consisted of the beginning stages of tape and week 10 is a continuation of that. I was able to get my bike tuned up before I shipped it off to Louisville but I was also able to get in 2 more bike workouts including a brick.
This week consisted of focusing on some swim sets, minimal running and memory refreshing bricks. It's hard to believe that the big day is Sunday. My nerves are definitely starting to get the best of me and maybe thats why I am not sleeping very well so instead I have decided to watch some Ironman DVD recaps to remember why I signed up for this in the first place and the goal I set for myself back in 2010 when I watched my Idol Mirinda Carfrae win Kona. I knew that if this short blond girl could win this race, then I can at least try that distance. Fast forward five years and I will be toeing the line for my first one. Will it be my last? We will see how race day shapes out. But in the meantime, I have a brick, a swim and a run this week.
As I heard said once "there are many things you can by, but this is something you have to earn". On Sunday, no matter what, I will earn it.
