Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season and finished their December Run Streak out strong! I spent the holiday in the wonderful city of Sarasota where the weather was in the 80s and perfect for getting my runs in. I finished out the month with 90 miles, less than probably what I have run in the past but I was more so just trying to enjoy the experience. Running on the beach, over the key, next to the ocean, it was the best way to end the year.
I enjoyed my holiday season very much, received loving and thoughtful gifts, and was excited to see 2015 end and 2016 begin. I turned 29, conducted my own mini triathlon to celebrate it and documented it all on Snapchat.
This year I have once again set goals for my racing season. One of which is to qualify for duathlon nationals and 70.3 worlds. I am very excited to see what this year has in store for me and have already begun my triathlon training. This offseason, I focused very much on strength training and will continue to do so throughout the year. Improving my strength has been something I have always wanted to do but never fully committed to until now. I have noticed an improvement and can't wait to see how far I am in a few months.
Who else is excited for 2016? What goals have you set for yourself this year?
